2021 Sponsorship Packages

Introduction

The Board of Directors of ACC New York City is pleased to present the Chapter’s 2021 Sponsorship Program. The Association of Corporate Counsel New York City Chapter (ACC-NYC) is proud to serve as the in-house bar association for attorneys in corporate and other private sector organization legal departments in New York City and Long Island. As always, there is no better way to show your support for the company law departments that you serve than supporting the ACC, and there is no better place to get direct access to the in-house legal decision makers in the greater New York City area.

With over 1,600 in-house members, we are one of the largest Chapters of the Association of Corporate Counsel. Our members rely on our sponsors for thought leadership to empower them against current legal challenges, and to stay aware and ahead of the evolving business and practice of law. Our members also look to our sponsors for professional development and networking opportunities in major industry segments, in particular, those with strategic importance to the New York City marketplace, such as technology, financial services, media, and sports & entertainment. In addition, we depend upon our sponsors to promote the strong core values that define who we are, including with respect to diversity & inclusion and attorney wellness.

2020 has been a challenging year for both our members and our current sponsors. We have had to adapt to the new “normal” and embrace virtual programming, including new and innovative ways for sponsors to connect with our members as a means of connecting with one another. I am happy to report that this year’s CLEs and virtual networking events have produced some of our highest attendance numbers when compared to past in-person events.

While we hope to be able to offer in-person programming in 2021, first and foremost, the Chapter is committed to holding events in a manner that addresses the health and safety concerns of all parties while preserving the value to sponsors and members. We have made the tough decision to continue with virtual sponsorship offerings only at this time, with the option to switch to in-person events should health and regulatory guidelines, sponsor policies and the Chapter calendar permit.

The Chapter Board places great value on its relationships with sponsors. Our Board, Co-Chairs, and other volunteer leaders are seasoned attorneys who look forward to developing strong, long-lasting, mutually beneficial relationships with you. We encourage past and prospective sponsors to consider supporting our Chapter for the 2021 programming year, which covers the period from January 1st through December 31st, 2021.

We welcome those who not only understand the privilege of access to our members, but also appreciate the need to make a difference within it and drive change to help us all grow together. We hope that if you are new to our sponsor program, that you will become a sustaining sponsor that we will look forward to having return, year after year. Together, we’re driving innovation to better engage with our community and want to collaborate with forward-thinking sponsors to deepen the meaningful exchange of ideas and extend our collective reaches.

The Board of Directors looks forward to working with you in the upcoming programming year.

2021 Sponsorship Packages

Given that we have all dealt with so much change recently, we are beyond grateful for your partnership through it all.  With that in mind and in light of current economic uncertainty and our commitment to honor all rescheduled 2020 programming in 2021, the Chapter has significantly modified our sponsorship options for 2021 to allow for greater flexibility depending how your budget cycle and the pandemic may evolve.  To that end, we have moved to a-la-carte pricing and can offer two choices of programming, both with an option to add-on.  For sustaining sponsors, these sponsorship opportunities are offered in addition to your already rescheduled programming from 2020.

The term of a 2021 ACC-NYC sponsorship is January 1, 2021, through December 31, 2021.  Virtual programs are featured in this year’s sponsorship packet; however, if government regulations and sponsor policies allow for in-person programs to resume, virtual programming may be upgraded to an in-person program for an additional cost.

We encourage you to review the opportunities attached and reach out to our Executive Director to discuss these options and the associated benefits. Payment in full of the sponsorship fee must be received by January 31, 2021, or within thirty (30) days of receipt of an invoice for the fee, whichever occurs later, unless other arrangements are made. Failure to pay in a timely fashion may result in immediate forfeiture of all sponsorship benefits. Please note that sponsorship fees are not refundable and may not be rolled over beyond December 31, 2021.

How does ACC-NYC evaluate applicants?

Each application will be reviewed and evaluated by the ACC-NYC Sponsorship Committee based upon responsiveness to the Sponsor Selection Criteria set forth below. Note that this is an application for sponsorship only. Submitting this form does not guarantee a Sponsorship award for 2021.

We greatly value our sponsors' dedication to helping us achieve our mission. Our Chapter attempts to select a diverse group of sponsors for its events to offer a variety of information, services, and products to its members.  Members of our Sponsorship Committee as well as our Executive Committee of our Board review all applications and considers a variety of factors in making sponsorship decisions.

The ACC-NYC Board of Directors has adopted the following criteria for the selection of its sponsors:

  1. ACC-NYC is committed to selecting a mix of sponsors that offer a variety of expertise to our members. The chapter is committed to aligning sponsors with membership needs and interest in terms of practice areas, industries, diversity, and size of firm and/or company.
  2. ACC-NYC seeks sponsors that can provide information that is valuable to our members while still leveraging creativity and flexibility in developing and presenting programming tangible benefits to our chapter. The chapter values innovation and uniqueness.
  3. The ACC-NYC is an active chapter with over 1,600 members. Therefore, we are dedicated to selecting sponsors that have a history of working closely and effectively with our Chapter’s Board and Executive Director. Returning Chapter sponsors who have experienced significant attendance at prior chapter events and who have received favorable feedback from our members for those programs will be given preference. In addition, the Chapter places great value on its relationships with sponsors who have demonstrated a willingness to assist the Board when needed.
  4. The ACC-NYC emphasizes the importance of growth (for itself, its members, and its sponsors). As such, the Chapter will give preference to returning sponsors who have helped the Chapter grow and have been consistent and cooperative partners.

When are sponsor selections announced?

Beginning in mid- to late-December 2020.

When is payment due?

Payment must be made in full by the later of thirty days from invoice date or January 31, 2021, unless other arrangements are made with the ACC-NYC Executive Director. Failure to pay in a timely fashion may result in immediate cancellation of the sponsorship and forfeiture of all sponsorship benefits. The sponsorship then will be reassigned to another interested firm/company.  Please note that sponsorship fees are not refundable.
