ACC NYC Women's Group Presents: Workplace conflict - encouraging the upsides and dealing with the downsides

Conflict in the workplace is a fact of life. It is generally perceived to be a problem which is made worse by peoples’ fear of encountering and dealing with it. Conflict does have its good sides but you rarely hear about them. This interactive workshop looks at why you might want to encourage some forms of conflict and how you can deal with it in its less welcome forms. The following topics will be covered in this interactive workshop:

• Causes of conflict
• Good conflict and how to encourage it
• Bad conflict and how to confront it
• Political savvy
• Understanding conflict modes and how to use them
• A structured model for dealing with negative conflict situations

Prior to attending the workshop, you will need to complete the TKI (Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument), by no later than close of business Monday 26 October. The survey is estimated to take approximately 20 minutes to complete. A confidential report, tailored to you, will be provided to you during the training. The report will help you understand how you typically deal with conflict and provide you with additional approaches to help you achieve your goals.

Registration required. Survey will be sent out separately and must be completed by close of business 10/26.
