In-house lawyers practicing in today’s digital environment face ethical challenges that simply did not exist years ago. How do we interpret and apply the old rules of professional conduct in the context of ever-changing technology, and when dealing with massive volumes of electronic information, and as we use new methods of creating, communicating, and storing information? This program will explore the impact of technology on the practice of law, and how counsel can recognize and comply with their ethical obligations around competency, preserving the attorney-client privilege, protecting client confidential and sensitive information, and supervising other lawyers and non-lawyer professionals.
